They say that dreams are like the paintings of a great artist. Your dreams are your paintings, and the world is your canvas. Believing is the brush that converts your dreams into a masterpiece of reality. In the case of Jesus Cortez also known as DJ Dirty Draws, he has taken that brush and has created a masterpiece that is exclusive and incomparable to any other.
Born and raised in the notorious streets of South Central Los Angeles, DJ Dirty Draws found refuge in music to stay away from trouble and the typical stereotypes that come along with any teenage boy living in South Central L.A. At a very young age, DJ Dirty Draws found a passion for music that has not stopped growing until this day. At the age of 22, DJ Dirty Draws decided to embark on a journey with just a dream and an old, rusty, and broken down turntable. Never would he have imagined that the broken down turntable in which he would spend days and night practicing on would lead him to where he is at now in such a short period of time.
In a span of 1 year, DJ Dirty Draws created a name for himself amongst the people. He began to DJ at house parties where he instantly became well known. He became the most coveted DJ in the party scene and in a matter of no time, was wanted at every single house party from near and far. The demand for DJ Dirty Draws became so huge, that he would DJ on average three to four sets in one night. From there he began to escalade and branch out to different scenes.
DJ Dirty Draws talented skills began to flourish quickly. Making a name for himself, with his unique an original techniques, DJ Dirty Draws was offered many opportunities that would make him grow as a DJ. One of his major accomplishments was being able to DJ with the now legendary DJ AM. Soon after, he was offered residency to DJ at a major club in Hollywood. He was a great success and soon was offered partnership to the club. He now runs one of the hottest nightclubs in Hollywood and headlines some of the hottest 21 and over clubs in Southern California. DJ AM could not have said it any better “Find something you love so much that you do it for free…then find somebody to pay you for it.” With everything that he has accomplished, for DJ Dirty Draws this is still only the beginning.
